Crypto Is a Strategic Industry for US Development, Texas Senator Says
Texas Senator Ted Cruz says he is a fan of Bitcoin and pointed out why his state is perfect for cryptocurrency mining. Speaking at the Texas Blockchain Summit 2022 late last month, the US senator argued that crypto could be a strategic industry for the development of the United States. Cruz claimed that Bitcoin provides benefits for the country’s energy supply and represents a “huge reservoir” of excess energy.
Cruz called the cryptocurrency mining glut “very favorable,” noting that Texas’ abundant and cheap energy makes it an attractive location for the cryptocurrency industry. The Texas senator went on to say that, he is a fan of Bitcoin because “the government can’t control it.” Senator Cruz claimed that Bitcoin was the only crypto asset he owns and revealed that he invests in BTC on a weekly basis.
