Bitpay Plans to Offer Erc-20 Tokens for Payments on the Polygon Network
Leading cryptocurrency firm BitPay is expanding the scope of supported blockchain networks and preparing to introduce ERC-20 token payments on the Polygon network. On October 26, BitPay and Polygon jointly announced the integration of Polygon into the BitPay app, allowing customers to issue ERC-20 tokens with Polygon bridges. The BitPay app is specifically gearing up to support token payments such as Polygon-based USD coin later this week. USDC developer Circle originally launched the USDC stablecoin on the Ethereum blockchain, bridging it over to Polygon via the Polygon Bridge in June 2022. Polygon USDC isn’t the only token with the Polygon bridge coming to BitPay. Bill Zielke, BitPay’s chief marketing officer, told that all ERC-20 coins currently supported on BitPay are automatically open to trading on the Polygon network.
